During his distinguished career, Morty
has participated in a number of groundbreaking real estate
activities. He was one of the partners who completed the first
condominium conversion in Connecticut over three decades ago. He was
instrumental in developing inner city New Haven housing in the
administration of former Mayor, Richard C. Lee. He has also worked
with such major real estate users as the State of Connecticut and as
a leasing agent for Yale University.
Morty served as president of the
Greater New Haven Board (now Association) of Realtors in 1981 and is
a former member of the board of directors of the Connecticut
Association of Realtors. A native New Havener, Morty graduated
Hillhouse High School and obtained a degree in business at
Quinnipiac College before entering the real estate field in 1957.
He is active in the Old Legion Avenue
Neighborhood Club, an organization of former residents of New
Haven's Hill section. This group holds numerous events throughout
the year to raise funds for deserving causes. A recent recipient was
the Children's Wing of the Yale-New Haven Hospital. Morty and his
wife lived in Orange for over 30 years, and have now relocated to
Hamden. They are the parents of two daughters and have four
grandchildren.
