Marjorie SmithMarjorie has been active in the commercial real estate field for more than 12 years. She brings to George J. Smith & Son Commercial and Investment Real Estate a strong background in real estate investments, leasing, and management. She currently is most active in site selection and development activities.

In 1994, Marjorie was awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation — which requires successful completion of a series of classroom courses, as well as a demonstration of practical skill and experience. It is the most rigorous and comprehensive designation awarded in commercial/ investment real estate. Prior to joining the firm, Marjorie was an asset manager in New York City, representing overseas investors. She was responsible for supervising a $550 million, 1.5 million square foot real estate portfolio. Marjorie received her B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale University. She pursued graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, where she received an M.S. in Real Estate Investment Analysis and Appraisal.

Marjorie is the great-granddaughter of George J. Smith, who founded George J. Smith & Son in 1886. She is active in the Yale Club of New Haven, is a past president of the Milford Rotary Club, and a corporator of the Milford Bank. Marjorie resides in Milford.
